We will be living up to our namesake on this day! We are going for Wings! Join us at 6pm leaving from a NEW location – the Viking Express Convenience Store on the East side of Baraboo. Due to darkness coming sooner, we will have a short ride (again 45 minutes) and then eat some WINGS! This will be a new stop going south.
Tuesday, August 23rd
We will again be riding this Tuesday. Tim will be leading us from the Tanger Outlet Mall in the Dells at 6pm. Please be there with a full or near full tank. I expect to ride for 45 minutes and then grab a bite to eat…New York Strip Steak (or wings)!
—-> UPDATE: Watching weather closely… inclement weather is likely between 4pm and 9pm… Therefore, we will move this ride to Thursday 8/25 – same time and location!
Well, we actually did take a ride on Thursday through the Baraboo hills and ended up Hooty’s next to Farm Kitchen. There were only two of us, but we had a fun ride and great conversations. Thanks Steve & Tully.
We will be meeting at the Shell Station at Hwys 12/13 at 6PM on 8/9/11. Please have a full tank and ready to go. We will be going for Steak & Tators! Don is leading through the back roads to this favorite location!

8/9 — We had several guests join us. We left with 9 bikes and 14 people for Steak & Tators. It was a great night to go out and ride. For those who went north, you missed the Culver’s stop… The custard was EXCELLENT!!
The Wisconsin Ride for Kids© event on 7th August 2011 was another success!! Each year chapter members and other riders throughout Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and even Missouri raise money for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. This money goes towards research for a cure and programs to assist the families.
The day started with rain, which lately seems to be commonplace. It started to clear just before the ride was to leave. The ride took us to a new route due to other events in Middleton. Although it wasn’t fast, the scenery was nice!
I was fortunate to take a star on the back of my bike. By chance, he has an interest in the same field as I am in and he also likes the same music as I do. We had a good ride.
When we returned, we enjoyed a sandwich and the ‘Celebration of Life.’ It was an opportunity to hear and meet the STARS. These stars ranged in age from 4 to 21. As Mark (Ride Coordinator) stated, we now are able to celebrate their life due to the research that has been done. Several of the stars are in college and are getting scholarships.
When everything was done and said, we had raised over $101, 398.00.

Several of us joined Chapter E early in the morning to try Bubba’s cooking for an all-you-can-eat breakfast. We had our fill and then joined others from chapters E, S, and C to ride our bikes in the Cambria Days parade. We had BMW, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Hondas. Jerry from Chapter C decided he was going to practice to become a Shriner and started doing circles in the street. It looked like fun so I decided to join him! We actually had a trike allow us to go in and out around him. It made the slow parade move a little slower.
Afterwards, we ate…again! Some of had the American Legion’s chicken dinner, the pie and ice cream social or both. There were a lot of things going on in the park and it was good to enjoy the hot day with nothing to do.
We also stopped by and talked with Dave & family in Portage. They are doing good and it was nice to see them. We missed them and hope they are able to join us again soon.
It was another good day on the bikes… There are always things going on with our chapter or others in the area. If you ride, please contact us about having fun with us or one of the other local groups…
